Password protect Outlook Express folders

Is it possible to password protect a local folder in Outlook Express? This would mean that mail messages downloaded to it using the rules facility could only be accessed by the password holder.

Not as far as we are aware. The only password protection in Outlook Express is at the level of identities. Each identity is, in effect, a separate installation of Outlook Express with its own data files and settings. You cannot, unfortunately, use rules to transfer messages between them.

One solution would be to use Vpop3 (www.vpop3.com) to download your mail, and use its rules to route mail to different user accounts. You would then set up identities in Outlook Express, each of which would collect its mail from a different Vpop3 user.
